It has been a wonderful week filled with Christmas excitement! Everyone has loved seeing their classroom transform into a Christmas house. We have even made it look like it is snowing outside. The children have all been really excited to help make decorations for the classroom and have loved seeing them displayed in and around the classroom.
This week for language arts we read the story, 'The snowman.' We talked about what colour and shape he is and what happens when it starts to get hot outside and how the snowman melts. Everyone made their very own snowman and some even made theirs to look like its melting, because Thailand is just too hot! We also made a Christmas stocking and an Elf of ourselves, which you can see displayed outside the classroom.
For sensory this week, we decided to show the children what it looks like when it is snowing. This was so much fun for everyone and they loved experiencing the touch and sight of the pretend snow. We ran around and played, singing Christmas songs and trying to catch the snowflakes! We all ended up covered in white snow!
During role play we practiced how to use our kind words with one another and how to share. Everyone was so polite and helpful setting up our Christmas buffet for all to share. We took turns cooking, serving and eating. It was wonderful to see all the children playing together and hearing so much communication among one another.
The children have all become such good friends and it is wonderful to see their excitement when everyone arrives to school and throughout the day. Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you all again next week for our last week of Term 1.
